Nursing Associates
Nursing Associates are a relatively new role designed, in general practice, to support the nursing team. It is a step between the Health Care Assistants and the Nurses, and Nursing Associates see awide range of patients and are able to carry out some of the jobs that the Nurses do, in order to free up space for the Nurses to carry out tasks that are more complex for patients. This allows for a higher standard of care for patients, and less waiting times for appointments. Nursing associates are regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and must practice to standards set out by the NMC.
